Aggies drown Lakers 59-0
It was a Velva game from start to finish as the Aggies mowed down the Des Lacs Burlington Lakers 59-0 in last Saturday’s opening playoff game.
In fact, Velva’s first two touchdowns came as the result of Laker turnovers, and the day just didn’t get any better for DLB.
Quarterback Tyler Ystaas made a one yard dive for the first score of the game, and Sam Schultz snagged a 13 yard reception for the second.
The Aggies put up four touchdowns in the second quarter, starting with a 5 yard dash to the endzone by RB Michael Wiest. Ystaas found a hole in DLB’s line and pounded out 42 yards up the middle for another score, and Wiest put away another touchdown with a 10 jaunt.
Just seconds after Wiest’s TD, Austyn Kittelson snagged a Laker pass and returned the interception 65 yards to put the halftime score at 38-0.
And that wasn’t the end of DLB’s turnovers, as Josh Weidler pulled down an interception in the third quarter and ran it out 46 yards for the score. Also in the third, Wiest made another visit to the endzone, leaving the score at 51-0 at the end of three.
The only mark in the fourth quarter came when Jordan Weidler took it 54 yards for the touchdown and Zach Craig added the two-point conversion for a final of 59-0.
