Aggies go to 7-0 on season
With freezing temperatures and blowing snow, it felt like football season last Friday night when the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers came to Velva for a regional pairing. In the end, it was the home team that carried the day as the Aggies beat DLB 26-0 to remain undefeated.
The Aggies did most of their scoring in the second quarter, starting with Collin Kittelson’s 3 yard push into the end zone. Garret Wible added the kick and the Velva went up 7-0.
A few minutes later, Josh Sandy latched onto a Jon Mack pass for a 75 yard touchdown, making it 13-0.
With less than a minute to the half, Zach Podoll snagged a 7 yard toss from Mack and put up the final score of the half.
The final touchdown came on a 34 yard pass play from Mack to Kittelson, followed by Wible’s kick for the point after.
Velva had 180 rushing yards in 32 carries and DLB went 138 in 44 carries. The Aggies aired it out for 128 yards with a 5 for 8 completion rate while the Lakers connected once in 7 tries for 7 passing yards. Mack was 4 for 7 with 125 yards while Austyn Kittelson tossed one completion for 3 yards.
