Aggies remain undefeated

The Velva gridiron crew put another mark in the win column this week, moving to 6-0 by taking down Lewis & Clark/Our Redeemers 32-7 in Berthold.
“I was very pleased with the game,” said Velva Head Coach Larry Sandy. “Our guys were excited to play a new opponent. With the proximity of the school districts, they knew kids from the team.”
While the Aggies held the Bombers scoreless through the first three quarters of play, Sandy said their opponents were “very athletic.”
“We knew we couldn’t bring anything less than our ‘A’ game,” Sandy said. “We came in very motivated and very focused.”
Velva put up all five touchdowns in the first half, starting with Collin Kittelson’s 2-yard dive into the end zone.
Jordan Weidler caught a 7 yard toss from Jon Mack for another TD, and Garrett Wible’s successful kick made it 13-0 at the end of one.
Josh Sandy snagged a 5 yard touchdown pass from Mack to start the scoring in the second quarter, and repeated the process a few minutes later on a 23 yard pass play.
Weidler wrapped things up with a 1 yard touchdown and Wible booted the point after for a 32-0 lead at the half.
The Bombers finally made it into the end zone with less than 2 minutes on the clock.
