Aggies rout Mustangs, head for playoffs
Velva ended its regular season last Wednesday night by routing the Surrey Mustangs, 73-16.
“It was a good game for us as we were able to get everybody quality game time,” said Velva Coach Larry Sandy.
The Aggies racked up 517 yards of offense, 413 of it on the ground.
Leading rusherswere Brad Dean with 4 carries and 91 yards; Hunter Schreiner, 71 yards in two carries; Kobe Bright, 3 runs for 65 yards; Robert Finneseth with 65 yards in 5 runs; Michael Thingstad took it 3 times for 41 yards; Brady Engebretson had 38 yards in 6 carries; quarterback Drew Effertz kept it twice for 22; Isaac Effertz had a single carry for 19 yards; and Shad Vedaa had two touches for a yard.
