Aggies wrap up region title
The highly anticipated meeting of Region 3 powerhouses Velva and Harvey wrapped up the regular season last Friday night as the undefeated Aggies rolled over the Hornets 29-8.
The Aggies dominated the game on both sides of the ball and appear ready to tackle whoever comes at them in the playoffs. A “very pleased” Coach Larry Sandy is feeling good about his team.
“I’m confident in them and the boys are confident in themselves,” he said. “I like our chances.”
In the Harvey game, arguably the team’s toughest of the year, the Aggies put out a stellar effort, and Sandy noted in his 20 years of coaching here, he’s not sure he’s seen some of what went on that night.
“We had five possessions where we ran 10 plays or more,” he said. “I don’t know if we’ve ever done that before, you just don’t see that in high school football.”
