MCED airs role in oil
Mercer County Economic Development's purpose is to promote and expand economic development in Mercer County. On Thursday, MCED representatives met to discuss a project that intends to do just that.
County budget looking at red for 2009
The mortgage industry across the nation isn't the only entity facing financial woes. Mercer County Commissioners felt the woes as they reviewed the budget Oct. 1 and then approved the budget for 2009, a budget that will stand an estimated $500,000 in the red as proposed.
Short list of issues this year
Usually crowded, this year's Mercer County general election ballot will be relatively bare come Nov. 4. But that doesn't lessen its importance in the least bit.

It was announced by the auditor's office last week that the applications were in the mail. Some received theirs, others haven't.
KRCC signs administrator
The Knife River Care Center has hired a new administrator. Fred Stern, president of the Knife River Care Center Board of Directors, first made the announcement to staff at the local care center last Tuesday.
Want to vote in November
Mercer County voters take notice: If you want to vote in the November General Election, you have only two options: Vote by Mail or go to the only polling place in the county the Mercer County Courthouse in Stanton. The polls will be open at the Mercer County Courthouse from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., MDT, Tuesday, Nov. 4.
BHS pilots video cameras
Newly installed security cameras at Beulah High School have taken the school a step forward to enhance the safety of students.
The system, approved several months ago by the Beulah School Board, offers 22 cameras in various locations of the school.
“We want to keep our kids safe and our building safe,” Superintendent of Schools Rob Lech said.
Beulah council will look at natural gas franchise
After some discussion about whether a proposed letter of intent was simply that or a memorandum of understanding, the Beulah City Council voted to draft its own letter of response to parties interested in bringing natural gas to the city.
