For sale, 42,000 sq. ft., 52 bedroom facility. In 2006, the Knife River Care Center began construction on its new facility on North 22nd Street. Ever since its completion a few years later, the question has been what to do with the old facility at 509 Central Ave. KRCC announced that it would be taking bids for the purchase of the facility.

When Center-Stanton school board member Chris Christianson was a junior at Washburn High School, his boys basketball team was ranked No. 2 in the state. During the regular season Washburn defeated Parshall by 20 or more points. During the regional tournament, however, a young Royal Lyson sunk 20 of 21 free-throw attempts to send his team to the state tournament. Parshall made only six field goals throughout the entire game.

It’s a fair time of year. The Mercer County Fair will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Beulah. Thursday, the fair’s opening day, is highlighted by a 4-H and FFA poultry show and rabbit show at 2 p.m., opening of the Mighty Thomas Carnival at 4 p.m. and the rockin’ sound of The Johnny Holm Band at 9 p.m.

The official 2010 Primary election results are in. Voter turnout was below average statewide, with roughly 20 percent of North Dakota’s nearly 503,000 eligible voters casting their ballots. In Mercer County, however, about 44 percent of 5,300 active voters cast their ballots either via mail or at the Stanton polling site on June 8. In the 2008 Primary election, a total of 1,371 ballots were cast.
