An invitation to “Go Fly A Kite”

Everyone did it as children. They put together scraps of paper or plastic bought for a few dollars, tied a string to it and ran like crazy trying to get it up in the air. For some, the love of making something that soars and glides in the wind never died.

Beulah will be home to the first Coal Country Kite Festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 1-2 in the open area on the corner of 11th Street Northeast and County Road 21, south of the Knife River Veterinary Clinic. The event is free and there will be drawings for kites and prizes for kite flyers. Special guests will be the Wings on Strings Kite Club, Jamestown, and Rolly Metz, Minot. There will be kites for sale and plenty of people to help rookies get their kites in the air. Concessions will be for sale by the Mother of Preschoolers group.
