Beulah looks to toughen housing rules

The Beulah City Council took the first step toward making its rules for what constitutes an adequate structure at its July 6 meeting.

The council directed city attorney Scott Solem and city planner John Phillips to draft an amendment to Ordinance 368, which governs the safety and appearance of buildings in Beulah. The city has been consulting with a professional building inspector and has determined that its current ordinance is too vague to be enforceable in court.
