Beulah PD combats opioid issues
By Kate Johnson
Sweeping North Dakota is the issue and epidemic of opioids.
It has become an ongoing topic of how to combat it for those who continue to use these drugs meant for pain relief in harmful ways.
Beulah Police Department had a helping hand from Custer Health when they donated NARCAN or naloxone HCI – a nasal spray for emergency treatment for a known or suspected opioid overdose.
This nasal spray counteracts the life-threatening effects of the opioid overdose.
Beulah Police Chief Frank Senn explained that because of the opioid issue within the state, those issues are even seen within Beulah. “With the opioids we’ve had overdoses in the Beulah area in the past – through Fentanyl overdoses or Oxycontin or Oxycodone,” said Senn.
