Classes prep local leaders for emergency management
First responders recently gathered together at a conference room in Beulah’s GrandView Steakhouse to dig deeper into instruction and training that could help them – and us – in a time of disaster.
Mercer County Emergency Manager Carmen Reed said the classes were set up to bring everyone on the same page to minimize confusion in the event of an emergency.
“What the government wanted because of all the disasters that have happened was a proven system of reaction to an emergency of any type – big or small,” Reed said. “This system originated from firefighters fighting wildfires in California, and has been in use by the military.”
