Council OKs extension to limits

By Chris Erickson

The city of Beulah voted this week to extend its extraterritorial limits by the allowed half-mile. The action comes after multiple recent meetings.
The proposed extension of extraterritorial limits has been discussed for quite some time, taking up numerous meetings through the last few years. While Oliver County deferred its zoning authority to Beulah in the small overlap into that county, the Mercer County Planning and Zoning Commission and the Mercer County Commission both voted unanimously to keep county zoning authority within the extra half-mile if Beulah extended its limits.
