Dodge City Hall revitalization

By Chris Erickson

After much consideration and a couple years of discussions, Dodge city leaders are looking at moving the city hall.
Mayor Leonard Striefel said the council and residents had been discussing the possibility for around two years, and now the time has come to make the move. Plans will involve moving city headquarters one building down on Main Street, after some work of course.
The current city hall had previously served as the old train depot, and structurally had gotten beyond repair.
“We’ve got a lot of work yet,” Streifel said, noting that first the asbestos work will need to conclude on the location of the property the city hall will be moving to right next door.
