Fireworks to dance on Independence Day

The Fourth of July will go out with a big bang of brilliancy this year. Oliver County residents will be treated to a special display of fireworks Sunday shortly after dusk around 10:30 p.m. CDT at the Oliver County Fairgrounds. The show will be approximately 20 minutes of splendor.

Presented by Stewart Merritt, owner of Skeye Illuminations, the display will be choreographed to music as shells ranging from 3-12 inches shoot for the sky, shooting off big fire balls of brilliant color. A 12-inch shell consists of about 55 pounds of explosives and the larger the shell, the higher it will go into the sky.
