Mercer County Fair has arrived

It’s a fair time of year.

The Mercer County Fair will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Beulah.

Thursday, the fair’s opening day, is highlighted by a 4-H and FFA poultry show and rabbit show at 2 p.m., opening of the Mighty Thomas Carnival at 4 p.m. and the rockin’ sound of The Johnny Holm Band at 9 p.m.

Various livestock shows will be held at the fairgrounds Friday morning, with commercial exhibits going on display at 11 a.m. and a quilting demonstration at 2 p.m. in the Beulah Civic Center. Both the carnival and the 4-H and FFA premium sale kick off at 4 p.m. Friday, with the backseat driver contest for fun-loving 13-17 year-olds will be at 5 p.m. Man will be pitted against beast during the Western Edge Bull Riders Bull-A-Rama at 6:30 p.m., and Tibor N Frendz will provide the evening’s music soundtrack beginning at 9 p.m.
