New drainage plan presented to Lake Shore residents and officials

Dozens of Lake Shore Estates residents turned out to the Beulah Civic Center to hear about a new plan that could keep their subdivision dry in the event of flooding.
The meeting was held by the Mercer County Water Board and included representatives from the Corps of Engineers, Mercer County employees, NRCS representatives and interested Lake Shore residents.
Mercer County Water Board attorney and secretary Greg Lange began the meeting by referring to a map provided to illustrate how the new plan would be implemented, starting with a brief history of the flooding problem at the lakeside subdivision.
