School Board approves petitions, leads to special election
By Kate Johnson
Beulah School Board approved a special election to be October 29, 2019.
The special election is for the purpose of electors to vote on whether or not they wish to move the current schoolboard size from seven to five; and to eliminate the building fund levy. Currently the building fund levies 17 mills.
Beulah Schools Superintendent Travis Jordan presented the special election to the board and verified that the verbiage was North Dakota Century Code and accurate.
The polling places for the election will be Beulah High School and the Golden Valley City Hall. Polls will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and the ballot will include two questions.
Question one: Shall the size of the Beulah School Board be decreased from seven members to five members? Question two: Shall the school building fund levy of Beulah Public Schools be discontinued?
