Wet spring dampening planting efforts everywhere

A heavy winter, a wet spring and continued rainfall into the summer have made it difficult for many farmers to get their crops planted on time this year, if at all.
Due to the harsh weather, a recent estimate put prevent plant at 6.3 million acres this year. If that estimate holds it would shatter the previous record of 3.9 million prevent plant acres set in 1999. Prevented planting acres are areas that farmers are not able to plant due to weather.
