What’s the emergency plan?

A group of residents from the south side questioned the Beulah City Council about its emergency preparedness plan and how it communicates that plan to the general public.

Marie Johnson was the spokesperson for a half dozen residents who came to speak to the council during the public input portion of the meeting. Johnson said there are many residents on the south side who were impacted directly by this spring’s flood and are concerned that the city doesn’t have a clear plan for handling another disaster. The group felt that communications between the city and its residents needed to be improved. Johnson said they would be willing to help organize a "citizens committee" that could help be a bridge between the city and the south side.
