Zap streets project heard
By Chris Erickson
Mayor Terry Barden, Engineer Loren Daede, and City Attorney Scott Solem took turns providing details on the proposed $2.5 million streets improvement project to a packed house at the Zap Community Hall last Wednesday night when a public hearing convened to inform residents what the whole thing was all about.
Barden said that something would need to be done about the city streets as they had been reaching worse stages each year. The two main options the city is facing are to resurface all the city streets, with major reconstruction happening to three in particular, or letting the city streets be replaced with gravel.
No matter which option the city chooses, some decision is going to have to be made, he said.
