Jesse Hettich was the first to admit he didn’t have his best game Thursday during the Region 7 Championship. Vying for his team’s second berth in the state tournament in three years, the Beulah junior missed seven free throws down the stretch. However, his eighth saw nothing but net as the Miners clinched a 58-54 victory over Dickinson Trinity.
Beulah boys basketball coach Jeremy Brandt is a bit of perfectionist. So when the Miners eliminated New England 68-54 Monday night to advance to the semifi nals of the Region 7 Tournament, the coach had a few things he wasn’t happy with. A chance at a regional crown wasn’t on the list.
If the Beulah boys basketball team learned anything from their district run last week, it was that the key to success in the highly competitive region is to get out to a good start. The Miners used that strategy to down No. 5 ranked Dickinson Trinity 67-58 and claim their third straight District 14 Championship.
Coach Jeremy Brandt said the Beulah boys basketball team was disappointed in its loss to Dickinson Trinity last week.
The Beulah boys basketball team seems to live and die by the 3-point arc.
