When it comes to American Legion baseball, Beulah is traditionally one of the most feared teams in the league. The one factor that unites the Cyclones every year is their ability to produce great ballplayers. This season is no exception as recent high school grad Luke Senske joined a long line of former Beulah players to be selected for the American Legion All-Star Series last Sunday in Mayville.

At last year’s girls state golf meet, all eyes were on Beulah’s Rebecca Alt after she scored a hole-in-one on Carrington’s course. During last week’s 2010 Girls State Class B Golf Meet at Jamestown’s Hillcrest Municipal Golf facility, there was little room for such shows of fancy. “There is a lot of tall grass and it was easy to go out of bounds,” the junior said. “The back nine is more hilly, it’s long and frustrating.”

Following last weekend’s Class B State Track and Field Meet, he may need to reclassify himself as just a tremendously talented athlete who enjoys basketball. In the junior’s first season participating in track and field, he placed second at the state meet in the high jump.
