The Beulah Cyclones brought their A-game this weekend, achieving wins on Friday and Saturday against Dickinson and Williston.
Corner Express and Rud Oil, Center, is sponsoring the G-Dam Flood Men’s Softball Tournament this weekend in Center.
If their first week is any indication, the summer baseball season may not be much brighter than Beulah’ spring season. Twice rain showers ended games early last week but thankfully the Cyclones were able to weather the storm with four victories.
One bad inning kept the Beulah baseball team from achieving their goals Monday during the first round of the Region 6 Tournament in Beulah. The Miners allowed four runs in the fourth inning to fall to rival Velva-Drake-Anamoose 4-3 in the nightcap game. The win sent the defending state champions to the title contest that happened Tuesday.
The first game of the season saw Beulah pounce on the Bison team en route to an early mercy-rule ending. The second time around would not be so easy for the Miners. Hazen rallied with two outs in the third inning on their way to an 11-6 regional win on Friday.
