Last week none of the Center-Stanton basketball teams came out with a win. The girls were marred by injury and the boys continued to play against programs with full rosters.
Center-Stanton girls Head Coach Drew Erhardt said his team fought back against Wilton-Wing but a late slip up cost them the game.
“We needed to rebound a little better. We had a few slips against Wilton-Wing. We played really well we were down 9 in the first quarter, fought back and had it tied at halftime. Then we just had a little short stretch where we lost our composure and turned the ball over a few times. Gave up some second-chance buckets and couldn’t close the gap,” Erhardt said.
Erhardt did enjoy seeing his team shoot from the free-throw line well. Center-Stanton shot 86 percent as opposed to their season average of 33 percent. But their next game they were hurt by the injury bug against Flasher.
