Beulah advances to state golf

By Jarann Johnson

The Beulah boys golf team knew what they were up against last week at the Bully Pulpit Golf Course in Medora. Beulah needed to place in the top three to earn a state tournament spot and that’s exactly what they did.
Beulah took second overall at the regional meet, shooting a 373. Juniors Jase Sailer and Michael Schmidt keyed Beulah’s score on a chilly and windy day.
Sailer shot an 87 for fourth place honors and Schmidt followed with an 88 for seventh place honors. Both golfers had already qualified for the state meet as individuals prior to regionals.
To qualify as an individual, golfers needed to place in the top ten overall or tie for the tenth spot. No other Beulah golfers placed in the top 10 as individuals.
