Beulah Baseball boosters looking for volunteer help
By Jarann Johnson
A few years ago a bunch of baseball players and their families came to Beulah. Most talked about the beauty of Beulah’s ballpark and how Beulah was a great place to host a state tournament.
The baseball players and families will be back in late July for the Class A State Legion tournament, which is being hosted by Beulah. The Beulah Baseball Boosters think they can do a great job of running another state tournament, but think it’ll take more volunteers than they currently have.
Beulah Baseball Boosters President Scott Battest said the event went well two years ago, and that he wants volunteers mainly to help take tickets and work concessions.
“It went very well [two years ago], we had a lot of people volunteer to take tickets and work the concession stands, and it was a big huge help to us,” Battest said. “It’s good to get them to take the tickets at the gate and also to help work in the concession stand – you know, selling the burgers, pop, and candy, and so forth.”
Battest explained that the need for extra volunteers is because of the Babe Ruth baseball schedule. If one of the Beulah Babe Ruth teams advances to state, it means the Babe Ruth parents that help at the state tournament will be gone.
