Beulah boys still look to find rhythm

By Jarann Johnson
Beulah was hoping for blue skies and easy sailing before they got into the meat of their boys basketball schedule. But storm clouds and lightning appeared last week giving the team two losses. Beulah won their lone home game of the week 59-56 over Heart River.
Beulah found themselves down 5-0 at the start. But they didn’t stay down long. Senior Jacob Weigel and Derek Ferebee lifted Beulah to a 9-5 lead. Weigel kick-started the 9-0 run with a 3-pointer, Ferebee followed with a 2-pointer and Weigel ended the run with another 3-pointer.
From there it seemed like Beulah was in full control of the game. Beulah ended the quarter up 17-8. Junior reserve guard Sean Gierke hit a first-quarter buzzer-beater 3-pointer and Weigel followed with another putting Beulah up 37-22 at the end of the first half.
