Beulah started their season off on the right foot. Four Winds-Minnewaukan came to Beulah Friday night for Beulah’s season-opener. Beulah didn’t let the fans down winning by 23 points, 60-37.
Mason Dolbec, senior forward, scored the first basket of the season for Beulah. Dolbec’s 3-pointer put Beulah up 3-0. Beulah’s lead didn’t last long. Four Winds-Minnewaukan got two quick baskets for a 4-3 lead.
Beulah senior Jacob Weigel pushed Beulah back ahead with a personal 4-0 run (3-pointer and 1 free-throw). Weigel’s run put Beulah up 7-4. Beulah didn’t look back after regaining the lead and led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter.
Beulah seemed in control of the game and only had one area of worry heading into the second quarter. Both teams ended the first quarter in the bonus. But it didn’t impact the second quarter strongly. Beulah ended the half up 29-20.
