Beulah falls at home
By Jarann Johnson
Beulah fought off an early deficit but they couldn’t get the timely hit they needed to collect a home win against the Bismarck Capitols last week. Bismarck turned two important double plays in their 5-2 win over Beulah.
Jack Trottier hit a two-out triple in the top of the first giving the Bismarck the lead. Beulah responded in the bottom frame with their own offensive attack. Trey Brandt hit a one-out RBI double and Nate Battest added a one-run single tying the game at 2-2.
Both pitchers posted scoreless frames in the second inning. Trapper Skalsky, Beulah starting pitcher, ripped through Bismarck’s batting order in 1-2-3 fashion.
Matt Miller, Bismarck’s starting pitcher, followed with a scoreless inning while striking out two batters.
