The Beulah Miners football team headed into the No.1 vs. No. 2 showdown hoping to come out with a West Region AA win. Beulah’s hopes didn’t come true and they fell 38-13.
On the first drive of the game St. Mary’s took advantage of Beulah’s defensive mistakes. The biggest defensive mistake was when Beulah lost containment on St. Mary’s quarterback Cole Gendreau.
Gendreau ran an option to the right but saw open space to his left and cut back in the opposite direction for a score.
St. Mary’s first drive of the game was 59 yards and took four minutes. There was only one passing play during the drive.
Beulah’s first offensive drive of the game was a punt and the game seemed like it was headed toward a field position battle. St. Mary’s quickly punted the ball back to Beulah.
Beulah started their second offensive possession of the game at the 7-yard line. Beulah made a big mistake, which heavily turned the game to St. Mary’s favor.
Beulah senior quarterback Reece Hoherz was picked off by Cole Spies.
