Beulah Miners basketball update

By Jarann Johnson

The Beulah Miners girls basketball team earned their first win of the season over the weekend. The win moved Beulah to 1-5 on the season.
The girls started last week at the Roughrider Invite, which was hosted by Killdeer. The Roughrider tournament is great chance for Region 7 teams to see how they match up against each other and some of the state’s best teams like Watford City.
Beulah started the tournament with a game against Bowman and suffered a big loss. Bowman won by 29 points.
Beulah couldn’t figure out a way to score in the game and didn’t have any players reach double-digits. Bowman was led by Ellie Stafford (12 pts) and Meggie Fischer (15 pts) in the win.
Beulah’s offense had another tough showing in their second game of the tournament, which was against Hettinger-Scranton. Beulah’s offense only mustered 17 total points in the loss.
