Beulah ready for state meet

By Jarann Johnson
Beulah tuned up for the state track meet last week. Beulah’s girls went to Hazen early in the week for a meet and both teams competed at the Southwest Regional Meet. Beulah’s boys had a strong showing taking second and the girls took fourth overall.
Beulah boys head coach Mary Hoherz said her team did a great job of sticking to the gameplan at regionals. Beulah’s plan was to get as many points as possible.
“We went in and sat down when we were driving back from Watford City. Who can we, with all the state-qualifications already, put in places to score points so that we are in contention of a top three team,” Hoherz said. “Can we plug in a couple of guys here. Tyler Erickson, can we put him in a 400, Jacob Weigel can we put him in an open 200. We looked at opens.”
