Beulah softball holds on

Beulah had to fight back from an early deficit and defeat a scary late-game situation last Tuesday. Their task was hard but Beulah, did it – knocking off Central McLean 5-2, at home, for a Sub-Region 4 win.
Central McLean started the game strongly. Leadoff hitter Sophie Sparrow hit Taylor Christensen’s second pitch of the game for a homer, lifting her team to a 1-0 lead. Central McLean pushed their lead to 2-0 in with one more run before the inning closed.
Beulah struck for their first run of the game in the second inning. Cassidy Nelson reached base on a walk and scored on an error, cutting Central McLean’s lead to 2-1 at the end of the second.
