Beulah VB falls short at home
By Jarann Johnson
Last week Beulah faced off against Hettinger-Scranton at home in a Region 7 game. Beulah couldn’t get the right rhythm after the first set and fell 3-0: 25-21, 25-11, 25-14.
Abbie Kludt started the game off well for Hettinger-Scranton. She served up to aces putting her team up 2-0 early. Beulah was in danger but they won a side out and started chasing Hettinger-Scranton’s lead.
Midway through the set, it seemed like Beulah was finally starting to find some rhythm. Phoebe Garman, senior, collected back-to-back kills for her team and Beulah only trailed by two points 14-12.
With momentum building Sam Oase took over for Hettinger-Scranton, collecting an ace and kill. Oase’s momentum breaker put her team up 16-12.
Beulah made one more comeback attempt late in the set. They were trailing by three points, 18-15, and Trinity Doe earned a kill. Then Faith Schnabel followed with her own kill, cutting Hettinger-Scranton’s lead to 18-17.
