Beulah VB gets swept on road

By Jarann Johnson

The Center-Stanton Wildcats swept Beulah 3-0 in Center. The first two sets were easy wins for Center-Stanton, but the third set was a tough fight Beulah barely lost.
The first set saw Center-Stanton grab an early 22-13 lead and never look back. Center-Stanton won the set 25-17. The final point was recorded on a Beulah serving error by senior Hunter Keller.
The second set of the match saw Center-Stanton get out to an early 6-1 lead and keep control for most of the set. Center-Stanton led 22-12 and closed out the set with a kill from sophomore Annika Towe and senior Abby Hintz.
After the second set, Beulah Head Coach Brian Filibeck passionately pleaded with his team to up their effort level and compete. At first glance it didn’t look like Filibeck’s speech sparked anything.
Center-Stanton came out and led 4-0 after an ace by senior setter Madeline Henke.
