Beulah wins homecoming FB game

The Beulah Miners needed to get back on the winning path after suffering an embarrassing home loss against St. Mary’s in the No. 1 vs. No. 2 state-ranked showdown. The Miners made sure to let everyone in the West Region know they are still a strong team, topping Stanley 40-8.
The game started well early on. Senior safety Reece Hoherz forced a fumble and the Beulah offense scored on a 26-yard run by Derek Ferebee. The point after attempt was no good, leaving the score at 6-0.
Beulah’s next offensive possession featured another long run. Hoherz took off from his quarterback position and ran for a 43-yard touchdown. Beulah went for two points once again, but got it this time. Hoherz completed a shovel pass to Matt Schnabel for the conversion, putting Beulah up 14-0.
The Beulah defense forced their second turnover of the game when linebacker Tyrel Mellmer picked off a pass. Shortly after Mellmer’s interception the Beulah offense punched in another score on a 3-yard Hoherz run, giving Beulah a 21-0 lead.
Beulah’s offense was rolling and forced two turnovers after one period of play. It was obvious Beulah was intent on winning homecoming for their fans and supporters.
