Class B Legion State Tourney a success in Beulah

Five days. Eight teams. One hundred twenty players. Six hundred fans. One thousand, one hundred seventy-four hamburger patties.

No matter how you break it down, the Class B American Legion State Tournament held at Goldmann Field in Beulah was a success.

With no Beulah or Hazen team competing in the tournament, Enderlin, Velva, LaMoure, Crosby, Casselton, Valley City, Munich and Mandan squared off – with LaMoure emerging the Class B State American Legion champion with an 11-2 thrashing of Enderlin at Sunday’s closing event. Enderlin had reached the championship game after edging Casselton 7-5 earlier in the day.
