Cowboys girls basketball season roundup
By Jarann Johnson
Killdeer girls basketball fans ended the season with thoughts of what if. What if Myranda Reiss and Kelly Bang had been healthy all year? Killdeer couldn’t quite get to full strength during their 4-18 season, but they showed promise.
Head coach Chad Dahlen admitted his team’s record is misleading. Killdeer owned a win against Hazen this year and Hazen topped Beulah. Beulah went on to finish fourth at the region tournament. Dahlen said his team was typically one strong stretch away from winning a few more games.
“There were probably two games we weren’t in at the beginning or the end. Where the team completely dominated us. Throughout the whole season, I’ve always felt that we had a chance to win. Even though the losses kept mounting up, we were just a little 2-3 minute stretch away. Just a stretch where we couldn’t put the ball in the basket or get that stop that we needed,” Dahlen said.
