Cyclones stay hot
By Jarann Johnson
The water that Micheal Jordan gave Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck and Porky Pig has made it's way into the Beulah Cyclones dugout. The Cyclones ended the regular season with a 15-19 record, collecting 12 of those wins in a ten day span and enter this week's West A Region tournament as the top seed.
Last week the Cyclones hit the ball well in all six of their games, getting ten or more hits in all of their games except one.
The Cyclones' hitting ability wasn't even their moist impressive strength last week. The team's ability to recover was more impressive.
The team's first doubleheader of the week didn't need any dramatic comeback efforts. The Cyclones were paced to two victories by the Becker brothers.
Patrick Becker played a strong game, hitting a homer and pitching seven innings in an 8-5 win in the first game. The only turbulence in the game was caused by four Cyclone errors.
Adam Becker took the ball from his older brother in the second game and pitched four innings and batted in two runs for a 3-2 win. Velva hurt themselves by committing four errors and the Cyclones took advantage, committing zero errors in the game and only giving up five hits.
