Future Miners learning the basics

Beulah varsity basketball coaches Jeremy Brandt and Jim Petrik took time last week to help the future of the Miners basketball grow as fifth through eighth grade players got some skill lessons and games in during the 2009 Miner Basketball Camp.

The Beulah High School gym was full of 20 players during the boys’ camp for the morning session. Besides developing their physical and mental basketball futures, the young athletes got a chance to be competitive with a few games from the week-long camp.

The fifth grade boys winner of the dribbling contest was Braydon Nelson in first place, Brett Lunde in second place and Austin Pouliot in third place. Pouliot also won the free throw contest with Nelson second and Lunde third. Nelson was back on top for the Hot Shot challenge with Lunde the runner-up and Pouliot at third.
