Mellmer wrestles in Heartland USA National Duals in Nebraska

Tyrel Mellmer would have the unique privilege of wrestling in the USA National Elementary Duals in Fremont, Nebraska this past weekend.  He, along with 16 other young wrestlers from across the state ranging from first graders to sixth graders (50 to 160 pounds) would make up the North Dakota Blizzards wrestling team after taking first place in each of their respective weight class in the qualifying tournament on the 26th of March.  Seventeen other young men would make up the North Dakota Twisters team for taking second in the qualifier. 
A total of 23 teams from Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, and the two North Dakota teams made up four pools of wrestling action.  The top eight from would make up the gold bracket, the next eight the silver bracket, and the bottom eight teams the bronze bracket.  At the end of day one the North Dakota Blizzards would make the silver bracket and the North Dakota Twisters the bronze bracket.
