Miners can’t make the shots when it matters the most
The Beulah boys basketball team seems to live and die by the 3-point arc.
In both their losses this season, the Miners have fallen when they couldn’t seem to hit from downtown. In their 66-63 defeat to backyard rival Hazen Friday, Beulah shot only 5-of-19 from beyond the arc.
“We had a lot of good, open looks against their zone that we just didn’t make,” coach Jeremy Brandt said. “There was a fair amount of ties in the second half and whenever it was tied it just never seemed like we could hit a shot to go ahead. Whenever they needed one it seemed like they would come up with a big shot.”
