Miners split tournament action to keep team alive

One bad inning kept the Beulah baseball team from achieving their goals Monday during the first round of the Region 6 Tournament in Beulah. The Miners allowed four runs in the fourth inning to fall to rival Velva-Drake-Anamoose 4-3 in the nightcap game. The win sent the defending state champions to the title contest that happened Tuesday.
Beulah started the day with a 5-3 decision over Hazen thanks in large part to aggressive base running and some timely errors by the Bison.
