Miners three-peat as District 14 champs
If the Beulah boys basketball team learned anything from their district run last week, it was that the key to success in the highly competitive region is to get out to a good start. The Miners used that strategy to down No. 5 ranked Dickinson Trinity 67-58 and claim their third straight District 14 Championship.
Trinity earned the 58-54 regular season win over Beulah on Jan. 10 but a major difference this time around was the fact that the Miner led the nearly the whole game. The Titans were also without their leading scorer Alex Volk, who reportedly injured his ankle in practice earlier in the week. According to coach Jeremy Brandt that could make for an interesting rematch should the two teams navigate a way back to each other in the regional tournament.
