Open weight classes cripple wrestling opener

Opening up his first year as a co-coach of the Beulah-Hazen wrestling program, Mitch Meyer was happy with his team’s performance and proud of the winning team as well during a triangular Nov. 24 in Beulah.

Meyer, a former Minot Bishop Ryan grappler, opened his head coaching career against his alma mater with a strong performance from a young team but unfortunately gave the win to Bishop Ryan as four open weight classes equaled 24 unearned points in their favor.
