Playoff picture still in view

Three weeks ago the Beulah football coaching staff sat down with their schedule in hand; looking hard at what needed to happen in their immediate future for a chance at the playoffs. What they found where a lot of "ifs" but one thing was for sure: Beulah must win all their remaining games to have a shot.

The Miners came out against Bottineau with a 34-15 win then again last Friday kept their hopes alive with a 6-0 scrounger victory. Beulah’s season, and possibly their hopes for a playoff berth, could come down to their final regular season game Friday hosting Carrington.

The Cardinals are also looking to sneak in to the playoff picture as well. Dickinson Trinity and Devils Lake have firmly locked up the first and second seeds but the west’s third and fourth seeds is a race between Minot Ryan, Beulah, St. Mary’s and Carrington. Carrington beat St. Mary’s but lost to Minot Ryan and beat Bottineau last week. If Beulah should win Friday, the head to head battle between the two teams would ease in the Miners favor.
