Most thought this season would be tough for Walcker to earn a state title in triple jump because of another young budding star from the east. Kellemon Hinton, Ellendale, entered the season as the top returner in triple jump (43 feet, 9 1/2 inches) and as a fourth place returner in the long jump (20-8).
