American Legion presents flag to CS Schools
Representatives of Miller-Linn American Legion Post 90 and the North Dakota Veterans Administration presented an American flag to Center-Stanton Public Schools April 22.
“This flag marks our ground wherever it is flown around the world for our service men and women,” Oliver County Veterans Service Officer Ron Otto said. “This is a brand-new flag for the school, ready for Memorial Day and a brand new class of graduates.”
CS Schools Superintendent Curt Pierce accepted the flag on behalf of the district.
“I’m proud to have this flag for the school,” Pierce said, “as it’s not just one we’ve bought—it’s special because it was presented to us by our American Legion.”
The American Legion originated as a patriotic veterans organization focused on service to veterans, service members and communities. Since its creation in 1919, the Legion has worked to improve benefits for veterans and organize programs for children and youth.
