C-S Students ‘Stuff the Bus’
By Annette Tait
A little healthy rivalry was introduced into this year’s Stuff the Bus event when the Center FFA Chapter challenged not only their fellow students, but also members of the community to donate non-perishable food and other items for the Oliver County Food Pantry.
Students and community members stepped up to the plate, donating nearly three times the number of items collected last year. More than 2,000 items were donated to the food pantry and Blessings Corner (formerly House of Manna) to provide support to area families.
“It was wonderful to see students and members of the community work together for a common cause,” Center-Stanton Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Chapter Advisor Nikki Fideldy said. “One FFA member, Brandy Cahoon, used her FFA fundraiser commission check to buy items for Stuff the Bus. This selfless act shouldn’t go unnoticed -- leaders like her make me very proud.”
