Candidates & calendar top CSPS agenda

By Annette Tait
The Center-Stanton School Board had the difficult task of narrowing the superintendent candidate field from 10 quality applicants to three. After review and discussion, Tracy Peterson, Shane Sagert, and Kyle Christensen were selected for interviews. Peterson is currently the CSPS secondary principal, a position he has held since 2009. Peterson holds a provisional superintendent license and is working to complete his superintendent credential. Sagert currently holds the position of assistant superintendent/elementary principal of Roosevelt Public School, Carson. He also holds a provisional superintendent license and is working to complete his superintendent credential. Christensen earned his superintendent credential in 2008, held the superintendent position at Glen Ullin from 2008-2010, and was a former administrator at Halliday from 2010-2013.
The candidates will be interviewed the latter part of January. The hiring process is to choose a successor for CSPS Superintendent Curt Pierce, whose resignation is effective at the end of the current school year.
