Catching “the god of golf” in PGA pre-action

"Is he the best golfer in the world, Grandpa?"

"He’s the god of golf."

The story begins in April when my son-in-law Ron Kalvoda mentioned during our morning jog that the PGA Championship was scheduled to be played at Hazeltine National in Chaska, Minn., Aug. 13-16.

The PGA Championship is the final major golf tournaments of the year. This was the 91st and the second time at Hazeltine. This year’s tournament course was the longest of the majors at 7,674 yards, a par 72. The course offers a variety of challenges from the par 3 Hole eight at 176 yard to Hole 15 which stretches nearly, to Wisconsin at 642 yards, a par 5.
